Congratulations! You’re almost at the finish line of your org merge. In this blog post, I’ll share three easy tips to ensure a smooth User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase. Let’s dive in!
1. Pre-Training for UAT Users
If some of your users are unfamiliar with Salesforce, it’s a good idea to provide them with pre-work before UAT begins. Consider sending them Salesforce trailheads or other training materials to help them get acquainted with the platform and its features. Additionally, invite the UAT team to demos or walkthroughs of the merged solution prior to testing. This way, they can familiarize themselves with the new system and feel more confident during the testing phase.
2. UAT Team Representation
To ensure comprehensive testing, it’s important to have representatives from each user group that will be impacted by the org merge. Aim to include at least two members from each group in your UAT team. This diverse representation will bring different perspectives and insights, allowing you to address the unique requirements and challenges of each group effectively. It also ensures that all user needs are considered during UAT, leading to a more successful outcome.
3. Focus!
During UAT, it’s common for new ideas and scope enhancements to arise. While it’s important to be open to valuable suggestions, it’s crucial to maintain focus on the current scope and objectives. Remind your UAT team that the primary goal of testing is to validate the requirements for the current phase. Any additional feedback or ideas can be cataloged for future consideration. By staying focused, you can ensure that the testing process remains on track and that the immediate goals are achieved.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plays a vital role in the success of an org merge. By following these three simple tips, you can enhance the effectiveness of your UAT process. Pre-training users, having proper team representation, and staying focused on the current scope will contribute to a smoother testing phase and better outcomes. Best of luck with your UAT, and congratulations on reaching this significant milestone in your org merge journey!
